Danjiang Bridge
New Taipei,
Taiwan
Danjiang Bridge spans the Tamsui River in the outskirts of Taipei. Designed by Zaha Hadid, the 920-meter-long bridge is longest single-tower cable-stayed bridge in the world.
PERI provided a comprehensive formwork engineering solution for this project. To realize its distinctive futuristic design, PERI developed a customized curved formwork system specifically tailored to the complex structure, covering a total curved formwork area of approximately 3,000 square meters.
The bridge's main pylon features a highly complex structural design and was constructed in 53 casting segments. To accommodate the continuously changing geometry of the tower, PERI supplied a combination of VARIO GT 24 Girder Wall Formwork, SCS Climbing System, and the ACS Self-Climbing System, ensuring both construction efficiency and safety throughout the project.
The Project
Constructing the Main Pylon with PERI Systems
The main bridge pylon of the Danjiang Bridge rises approximately 200 meters above the water.
Cross-Section of the Main Pylon
A major challenge: the cross-section of the main pylon changes continuously with elevation. The lower section flares outward, while the upper section gradually curves inward.
Fast and Efficient Construction of the Main Pylon
By using the combination of the two PERI climbing systems, SCS Climbing Formwork and the ACS Self-Climbing System, the team successfully delivered the unique main pylon structure in a fast, safe, and highly efficient manner.
SCS Climbing System Provides a Safe Working Environment
The SCS Climbing System provided a safe and protected working environment for the construction of both the upper and lower sections of the main pylon.
VARIO GT 24 Girder Wall Formwork Provides the Formwork Solution
The VARIO GT 24 Girder Wall Formwork system was used in each construction segment of the main pylon. It ensured reliable and seamless integration with other PERI systems.
